About ‘The Workshop’ Blog
The Workshop blog (http://workshop.reclaimersonline.com) is dedicated to building instruments. This is the place to write about building your own instrument, how to make an instrument, upload photos of your instrument, or discuss modifications to an instrument. Whether you’re currently building an instrument, thinking about it, or have already built one – this is the place to share your experience, tips and ideas with others. Also, keep in mind that we want to encourage other people to also build their own instruments – so try to be positive, but be honest. If you’re having a bad day, and feel like you’re getting nowhere on the progress of your instrument, feel free to write about that too. You might be surprised to find that someone else had the same problem but found a solution and can help you out. The Workshop blog is a place to share your experience and show support for other people who are interested in building musical instruments.
Who will post on this site?
Anyone who is currently building, or has built an instrument, under Charles’ supervision – this may be at the Spring Hill workshop, at Bald Hills, or at Charles’ workshop. This can also include people building instruments remotely who have been taught by Charles, or using CyberFeral designs
At this stage, posting on the blog, is not open to the general public. Only people who have been in contact with Charles or involved with The Reclaimers are allowed to contribute posts. However, the general public can Comment on any of the Posts, by providing a name and email address. These Comments will be moderated by Admin, to avoid spam, or inappropriate language etc.
Each Post goes into a Category. To give you an idea of what sort of topics to write about on The Workshop blog, here are some of the pre-made Categories:
* Guitars
– Electric (Sub-Category)
– Uncle Bob (Sub-Category)
* Percussion
– Drums (Sub-Category)
– Lagerphones (Sub-Category)
– Tambourine (Sub-Category)
* Strings
– Cellos (Sub-Category)
– Stick Fiddle (Sub-Category)
– Violas (Sub-Category)
* Tools
* Uncategorized
For example, if you want to write a post about how to make an Uncle Bob guitar, you would choose the ‘Uncle Bob’ sub-category, under ‘Guitars’. If you forget to select a Category, your post will end up in the ‘Uncategorized’ section. If you want to write about a different type of instrument, you can create your own new Category, but it’s recommended that you try to use the Categories that are already there, if possible.
